NARTIC 2025 Open House: 3/22/25

NARTIC 2025 Open House - A Somatic Grounding Session: March 22

March 22, 2025 (Sat), 11 am to 12:30 pm Pacific Time (Los Angeles)

Holding space facilitator: Tina Bartsch
Open House facilitator: Dr. Kok-Mun Ng

NARTIC is hosting a special session for members of the counseling and therapy communities who need time to relax, center themselves, and support one another during these challenging times. We're very pleased that Tina Bartsch will lead us through a grounding and presencing session. Tina will facilitate a mindfulness process to address the current political moment. Participants will engage in a short somatic grounding exercise and participate in triadic presencing and collective social witnessing using a method developed by the mystic Thomas Hübl.

Tina, a member of NARTIC, is in her second year of the Counselor Education and Supervision doctorate program at Saybrook University. She currently works at Malama Family Recovery Center on Maui, working with women in recovery from substance use. Tina is a pre-licensed mental health counselor, licensed massage therapist in Hawaii, a yoga instructor, and certified Somatic Experiencing® practitioner.

NARTIC started in September 2022. Since then, the network has grown steadily to more than 80 members to date. Members have also formed various interest/workgroups doing research and presentations, developing training materials, conducting training workshops, and so forth. In 2025, the NARTIC Admin Team is hosting regular opportunities for bringing the NARTIC community together through these monthly Open House events.

These virtual Open Houses serve to introduce you to NARTIC, and offer a forum for current NARTIC collaborators to share their projects. Please sign up to attend an event that fits your schedule. You will have the opportunity to network with current and new members and form workgroups of your choice. If you’re not ready to collaborate in any projects, you’re still welcome to attend the events and network with like-minded counseling and mental health professionals. We welcome colleagues from outside of the United States to collaborate with us to advance antiracist teaching and learning in counseling and related mental health professions.

Current members are most welcome to attend the events to connect and build new collaborations.

Please help us spread the news to your U.S.-based and international counseling friends. You can become a member of NARTIC by filling the “Join Us” form.
